Roof replacement is easier to plan when you know where materials will go, how access will work and who to contact during the job. Review those details with your contractor before the scheduled start. Weather, roof size and concealed conditions can affect the sequence and duration.
Before the crew arrives
Confirm the arrival window, parking, delivery and debris-container locations.
Move vehicles and outdoor belongings away from agreed work areas.
Plan a quiet, secure place for pets and children away from the work zone.
Discuss fragile items, attic belongings and any areas needing special protection.
Coordinate solar panels, satellite equipment or other roof-mounted items with the appropriate provider when needed.
Expect noise and restricted access
Removal and installation involve overhead work, movement of materials and repeated noise. If you work from home or have someone sensitive to noise, plan accordingly. A photograph of a finished roof does not show every concealed layer.

Finish with a walkthrough

Collect the final invoice and applicable warranty information.
Use care around the property after roofing work. A cleanup or magnetic sweep cannot guarantee that every fastener has been recovered. Let the contractor know if you find remaining debris.
