Compare GAF shingle styles and product information, then match the material, roof details and warranty requirements to your estimate.

A useful shingle comparison starts with the exact product, the look you want and a complete installed scope. Product names alone do not tell you what is included beneath the shingles or around the roof’s edges and openings.
Use GAF’s comparison chart
The interactive chart compares GAF product options and their stated features. Read the qualifications in the chart, including warranty conditions. Relative price symbols are not an installed quote for your house.

Compare appearance on the whole roof
Narrow the choice by the roof profile and visual texture you prefer. Then compare actual samples against the house. HDZ, UHDZ and designer options should be evaluated as specific products, with local color availability confirmed before ordering.
Ask what changes in the installed proposal
Exact manufacturer, product line and color.
Roof areas, removal work and disposal included.
Decking allowances and approval of additional work.
Starter, ridge cap, underlayment, flashing and ventilation details.
The exact written warranty and any eligibility or registration requirements.
Keep performance claims specific
If impact resistance, wind coverage or algae coverage matters to your decision, request the current product document and applicable warranty. Do not assume that every shingle from the same manufacturer has identical ratings or coverage. An insurance discount, if available, must be confirmed with your insurer.
Use our project photos for context
The San Marcos HDZ gallery shows an actual architectural-shingle replacement in Pewter Grey. It is a useful appearance reference, not proof that another roof will have the same installation scope or coverage.
