Save a simple condition record
Date and safe ground-level photos of each side of the home.
Location of any stain, drip, overflow or missing material.
Whether the change followed rain, wind, hail or freezing weather.
Earlier inspection reports, repairs and warranty documents.
Avoid turning a small problem into a larger one
Stay off wet, damaged or steep roofs. Leave roof access, branches near power lines and overhead work to the appropriate professionals. Before applying a cleaner, coating or pressure washing, verify that the roof manufacturer permits it. Do not seal over an unidentified leak source.
